#30DHFast - Week 3 Who Is He?

You've made it through to Week 3 of the #30DayHusbandFast, the penultimate week #yougoglencoco

How was Week 2 for you? Harder? Easier? The same?Well I'm going to keep praying that you are finding it helpful, transformative and encouraging!

If you want to continue looking over some of the topics of the second week over the next few days, weeks or for the duration of the fast - feel free to do so. The weekly themes, daily prayer guidelines, suggested devotionals and readings are ultimately there to inspire direction, but please feel free to switch it up if the Lord is really speaking to you about an area.

I for one, have had a very introspective fast these past two weeks, focusing more so on aspects within myself/life that need work to better prepare myself for God's purpose/plans and marriage - but that's ok, I always say as long as you are growing in faith and the fast is productive/challenging, you are on the right path

Keep going you're over the halfway line - literally (as this blog post is late ;-)!

But if you're looking to press on, it's Week Three of the #30DayHusbandFast, and this week we're taking it up a notch...

Week Three - Who is He?

Over the past 2 weeks of this fast we've definitely touched on some topics that relate to your future Husband - prayed about him, but the focus was more so on you as the starting point/springboard. Think of it like this, to better understand/pray about your future Husband you were guided by taking a look at yourself first, and then thinking about him. Now we're shifting gears and spending the last 2 weeks, with a real focus on your future Husband.

So who is He?

For some of us, there may be a brother in Christ we may have our eye on, know of, see around socially - someone you have in mind as a good candidate for a Husband. For others, it could be the opposite, no one on our radar, no one that's tickled your spiritual fancy for the last couple of seasons, an unreciprocated like, or you may feel like your walking in the relationship wilderness (dare I say it)! So when I ask the question who is your future Husband? What comes to mind?

  • Write a List!

Yes , write a list of your dream Husband, make it as detailed as you want it to be, the more extensive the better.

Because you're then going to...

  • Rip Up the List!

Yes, rip it up (I would say burn it, but I don't have time for the climate warriors to throw a fit), so rip it up and throw it in the recycling bin.

Because you're going to Let God write your list!

Hear me out...

When it comes to the idea of yho your dream Husband is, we can sometimes come to God with a laundry list or a "scaled back" grocery list of preferences. I even raise my hands up, because over the past 2 weeks I've even asked you to consider/write down what characteristics you would like in a Husband, what fruits of the Spirit/fungi of the flesh they would need to work on, what's their purpose etc - and that's all been well and good to motivate those martial juices. But during the process, how much have we let God write the list? A lot? A lil? Met halfway?...

Whatever your answer is, it's all good as our thoughts/answers over the past few weeks have been off the springboard of ourselves, now it's time to get comfortable sitting in the backseat of the car, and letting God drive to, reverse and parallel park outside the Church we're getting married in.

So we're now shifting focus from "praying about" your future Husband, to directly "praying for" your future Husband, with an emphasis on receiving revelation of Who he actually is?

So think of some topics relating to your Husband that you want to pray over, I'll be listing some down to get those juices flowing, but you're more than welcome to add/subtract/completely ignore this, but the focus this week is just to pray for your Husband in any/all of these areas:

  • Faith/Church

  • Work

  • Money

  • Health

  • Purpose

  • Lifestyle

  • Friends

  • Family

  • Interests/Social Life

  • Heritage/Background

  • Politics

  • Beliefs

  • Their Past

  • Past Relationships

  • Physical/Sexual history

The daily guidelines below aren’t exhaustive, but just a general guideline on topics that are to do with purpose. But by all means, take out, add in, swap around what you feel like when it comes to this topic. You may want to spend more than 1 day on a subject – go right ahead. The reality is, purpose shapes our life, so please feel free to focus on that as much as you wish.
